Land Acknowledgment

We acknowledge that we are situated in Edmonton, which is the colonial name given to  ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ (amiskwacîwâskahikan or Beaver Hills House), in Treaty 6 territory. Treaty 6 was negotiated between the Crown and Indigenous nations. This territory is the traditional and ancestral lands of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux and Nakota Sioux peoples. We acknowledge that this territory is also home to the Métis Settlements and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Regions 2, 3 and 4 within the historical Northwest Métis Homeland. We acknowledge the systemic racism and genocide that Canada was founded upon, and recognize the violent impacts it continues to have today on First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We believe in truth before reconciliation, and we commit to upholding the Calls to Action. We dedicate ourselves to reconciliation in all of our actions – in what we say, in what we do, in who we are. In this spirit, for each project we undertake, we will donate 1% of our profits to an organization that is Indigenous-serving and Indigenous-operated.

Although the MT Consulting Group team is situated in Treaty 6 territory, most of our work is done remotely, with organizations and individuals located across Turtle Island and the globe. We encourage our clients, our partner organizations and our site visitors to take a moment to research and reflect upon whose lands you are on.
