Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are more than just buzzwords. They are critical components of a healthy, productive, and innovative workplace.

Are you ready to embark on a journey towards a more inclusive workplace? Look no further than Basecamp, our three-part course series designed to provide a solid foundation in DEI that will benefit both your organization and your employees.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Foundations

In DEI Foundations, the first course in our Basecamp series, participants will delve into the business case for diversity, learning how creating an inclusive workplace is not only the right thing to do, but also the smart thing. They will also explore core concepts like identity, power, and privilege, gaining a deeper understanding of how these factors impact workplace dynamics.

Unconscious Bias Foundations

The second course in our Basecamp series, Unconscious Bias Foundations, takes a closer look at the ways our brains make automatic decisions based on societal norms and stereotypes. Participants will learn how to recognize and interrupt their own biases, and how to create a workplace culture that mitigates the impact of unconscious bias.

Allyship

The final course in our Basecamp series, Allyship, explores the role of allies in creating a more inclusive workplace. Participants will learn how to recognize and address microaggressions and other inequities, and how to use their privilege to advocate with and for marginalized colleagues.

Our facilitation style is authentic and focused on growth and solutions. We do not believe in shaming or blaming, but rather in creating a safe and open environment for participants to learn and grow. Whether you are a manager with years of experience or a new employee, our Basecamp course series is for you. You will gain valuable skills and strategies that will help you build stronger relationships with your colleagues, clients, and partners. You will also learn how to foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity, which can lead to greater creativity, innovation, and overall performance.

DEI Coaching

Do you want to practice difficult DEI conversations in a safe space? Do you want to take a deeper look at your own biases and “do the work” that you keep hearing about? Are you feeling lost in a fog or anxious about ‘something’ at work and can’t quite put your finger on it, but you know you are uncomfortable and want a change? If any of these questions are resonating, you may benefit from coaching.

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires a person to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity, and leadership.

You might think of coaching like going on a road trip with a supportive passenger riding along with you. You are in control of the car and where it’s going – the same way you’re in control of your life, your destiny, your decisions, your future. As you drive, your coach accompanies you, assisting you on your journey to reach your destination.

When you partner with a coach, you are in the driver’s seat. Your coach provides support for accountability and self-awareness and helps you gain new perspectives. Coaches ask questions not to get an answer they desire, but to encourage you in meaningful exploration that can help you reach a new level of depth and performance. The coach is the expert in the coaching process, but you are the expert on your life journey.

Our trauma-informed approach to DEI coaching respects how past-trauma can show up today, and how on-going trauma can have lasting negative impacts. We will work with you in understanding the presence of trauma in a coach-client relationship and how to use it as a guide for resilience.

Individual and group DEI coaching available.

Training Testimonials

“This was a fantastic presentation and one I think everyone should take. The information was easy to understand, used different modes of engagement and was a safe place for reflection. Thank you for doing the work you do.” ~ Cyndi Gerlach

“The facilitators, Sky and Sherilyn, were excellent: clear, attentive, well-prepared, and provided just enough guidance for the group while staying out of the way to allow participants to share and engage with each other. I am usually skeptical of DEI training, and I’ve experienced some that have felt rote and superficial, but this one pleasantly surprised me and it provided a forum for interesting reflection and discussion.”

“The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion course that Sky and Sherilyn delivered for our organization was so wonderful. The content was engaging and thought-provoking, and the facilitators guided us through exercises in a gentle, non-judgmental environment. I learned a lot from the experience and it inspires me to want to continue unpacking this content in the future.”

“Fantastically done, engaging and insightful.”

“This course is definitely worth taking, the discussions and information that came through were valuable, and the facilitators were very knowledgeable. Having the safe space as was provided here, to have open and honest conversations about issues that may be difficult to talk through, can only help towards more open and effective changes towards DEI.”
